HackDaBox's Aladdin XT Troubleshooter !

There are 2 versions of the Aladdin Xt. Aladdin XT Lite ( has the numbers 4032 printed on the lattice chip ) and the Aladdin XT Pro ( has the numbers 4064 printed on the lattice chip ). If you have the Lite chip then Solder a link wire from BT to Ground on the Aladdin XT Lite like in this picture ...

If you have the Pro chip then solder a link wire from BT to L1 on the Aladdin XT Pro.

Solder a wire from the alternate D0 on the bottom of the motherboard to D0 on Aladdin XT

XBOX V1.6

You should NOT have a wire to BT on motherboard

Now press power to boot the xbox and the chip BIOS should boot. Usually these chips are shipped with the Evox M8 PLus V16 bios flashed on them so you should see the purple Evox shield in the top left hand corner like this .

If you do not see the purple Evox shield then try booting my HackDaBox Reflash Cd as sometimes people think the chip isn't working becuase the MS dashboard boots but this is normal, it won't look different unless you have installed a replacement dashboard. If the MS BIOS is still booting then resolder your D0 point and double check it's the right point you have soldered to. Change your D0 to the bottom side one if your using the top D0. If you have a Xbox V1.6 then triple check you have rebuilt the LPC correctly as this is most likely your problem. If you used a LPC REBUILD board then de-solder it and use wires. Use a multimeter to check there is power running throw the LPC. Heres a pic of the LPC pinouts ...

With the xbox on and the dvd-rom removed set your multimeter to volts DC and place the BLACK probe on pin 2 and the RED probe on pin 9, It should read 3.3V. Now move the RED probe to pin 6, It should read 5V. If you don't get power resolder the connections after you turn the xbox off. Also have a look for broken or damaged traces around the LPC points.

Make sure you have plugged the Aladdin XT onto the pinheader the right way , here is a picture.

If your chip still won't boot then resolder all the connections. A common problem with the Aladdin modchips is when they are quick soldered and Pin 1 is not making a good connection you can boot the dashboard but you cannot launch any games or apps as it just freezes. Resolderring Pin 1 will fix this problem.

Finally if your Aladdin XT chip now behaves like it should and boots up fine into the hacked bios then your BT wire was your problem and you can now remove the link from BT to Ground and now fit a wire from the Aladdin XT's BT to the BT on the motherboard. You can also fit a wire from the Aladdin's L1 point to the L1 on the motherboard if you want the LED to go yellow when the chip is enabled.

A quick press on the power button will boot MS BIOS ( chip disabled )

A 2 second press on the power button will boot the CHIP BIOS ( chip enabled )
